Review of Shadow speaking

- I never have done shadow speaking before and I think most of the students will be the same(or maybe not..). At first I thought there were no big difference but after listening the after recording I realized it wasn't. That was the point ! How I thought I was speaking and how I was really~ speaking was different. I think if I  keep trying, there will be much more improvement.

-As I did shadow reading I realized I speak little different then I thought.

 Speaking and listening and changing the parts I want to fix helped me a lot.

 I think recording my speaking and listening to it, is a good way to improve language.

 Plus ~ as I made a cooking video I used words that I do not use in usual. I searched for the words and expressions ~~ another learning point !!

Mad Max

One of the best movies I have saw.

I never wrote a review of a movie before~ but after watching this one I could not help not writing about it.

Mad Max is a series.

This story is the 4th story "Fury Road"

-In a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, two rebels just might be able to restore order: Max, a man of action and of few words, and Furiosa, a woman of action who is looking to make it back to her childhood homeland.- on madmax homepage

Movie starts with Max's monologue, on the desert next to his car. It shows why Max became mad and why he became alone. Soon the Immortan warriors comes up and catches Max and takes him to the their base.

Immortan is the name of the ruler in the world.(picture below)
He has water and that makes him to get power in the dry desert. He is a dictator and

use human as tool to make things he need. He squeezes mother's milk from mothers as we do on cows and his wifes are not treated as human. There are just machines to make babies. So they attempt to escape with Furiosa. The story is about Furiosa and the brides escaping to go back to their homeland. How the Furiosa team meets Max and start the journy together is another interesting point to watch.

• It took 17years from planning to be released

George Miller who directed family movies such as 'Babe' wanted to direct some big scaled movies. First started with an idea "The future devastated by nuclear war, fights for human resources" which is basically still same. On 2001 shooting was going to start but because of the 911 terror it was postponed. After that unexpectedly it rained on the eastern part of the Australian desert, for that plants started to grow. So they had to move the shooting place to Namib desert but because of the safety problem it was canceled. On 2012 they could finally start shooting.

• Most of the pictures are real.

If you watch the movie you will be suprised of the fascinating picture and action scenes. I definitely thought most of it will be CG but it was not. They used cg only for the backgrounds and details.

During the fight~ Immortan's war boys fight very unusually. They ride the pole and go right and left, up and down freely. At this time they also did not use graphic but they made it with the very famous circus 'Circus of the Sun'.

• Silver locker

Before the war boys die they spray silver locker around their mouth. I was really curious what this means. After googling ~ I found out that this is a ritual symbolizing Immortan.





There will be more fun stories but I think this will be enough to make be interested in Mad Max. From the start to the ending there are no time to take off your eyes from the screen.

At the end I thought maybe Max will not be the one to be mad....

Review of my Shelf project.

• What did you think of your first Shelf project/experience?
• What went well? What could go better next time?

Well first, I have a lot of inconvenience on this project. Our video ended up  to a little different direction then I wanted. I supposed  talking about food and discusing more about it  but we were a team so I can't do everything what I want to do.

However I really enjoyed the process. Had fun.
I think it would have been more nice if we put more effort on explaining the games.
Because it's a english learning project.
(I tried to put subtitles under the video while editing it ... but reall bad skills with editing..
still I think ..or maybe hope that I'm getting better with it.)

Next time I want to focuss more on the english part, want to challenge on my english skills.

1. How job interviews are made up in other countries.

  Few days ago I saw a news saying that in other countries they don't put one's own photograph on it. Because I never had a chance to see it I don't know if it's reall, but the news made me curious of the difference.
 Is it different? If it is how much? I want to interview foreigners and ask about it, get to know more about job interviews. But the problem is I'm still 22 so I never had a chance to have a real job interview. I also want to know more about job interviews is Korea. So I can compare it.

I am contacting with a employee but not so sure yet.

1. The "online restaurant reviews " are they Real?

Now days there are many bloggers. Bloggers are not just bloggers, now it is a job and they earn money from it. You get money from the restaurants, stores or from anywhere and you write reviews from them. That can not be honest. It means most of the bloggs can not tell the truth. They may be~~ but it is true that there are more that are not. So what I want to do is going to famous restaurants in person and doing the reiview for real.

2. Interview the Guests

Working as a step at a hostel I can meet various people. So I thought it will be nice to get to know of each other and do some interviews and if they are good at something I can record it and show others.

It's a guesthouse as you could guess by the title.
I work here at weekend as a manager. yeah ~~
What I do is not so much. Just help people check in/out, confirm peoples reservation from various booking sites and preparing breakfast.

The best part of this place is the whole glass window. It's not only at the communal place but it's also in the bedrooms so you can see the view as you get into bed.

It places near the first exit of 'Haeundae'subway station.
It's a beautiful place so I think it will not be bad reccomending it to your friends who plans visiting Busan.

  Megan Paula Elise Langford asked help for naming her baby. And the speakers start giving an advice for her. First, they said that the first name should sound good and go well with the last name. So option one is, going with her last name. If she doesn't like it she should choose what she will go with, a common name or a unique name.

   And after that, they explained about the name they chosen for her. They thought because she have three first names, she could give one to her daughter. Langfords origan is english and it means 'shallow place to cross a river', and the best way to across a shallow river is a fan boat, and a fan boat is in Louisiana. So they thought she should name her daughter Louis. Louis also means a famous warrior. If she want it to be more interesting she can name it Zina.

 

Why this video?

These days i'm interested in naming. As I grow up and meet more and more people, i really experience the importance of name. This video gives an interesting sight for naming. I liked it because they name the babies name someway related to her mothers but not in one-dimensional. I hope you guys could get a tip for naming your baby in the future or any other things that you need to name :)

  Plus~~ they talk about the good things and bad things for common name and unique name and this was quite interseting for me too. cause I always thought only unique name is nice but it wasn't. They both had an advantage. Like people don't make fun of common names and for unique names it's easy to remember.

 

Try for myself !!!

I don't like my name because it's to common and has a simple meaning.(actually it's not common in our age it's common to my mothers age... Kyung-ah is an old name.) That's why I really want to give a meaningful name to my kids in the future........... if there is a day that i could meet them. So I thought it will be nice to practice!!!
 I started with my name 'Kyung-ah' and my boyfriends name 'June bin' - witch means "shine at the highest place". The thing  that shines in the highest place is stars, and for Korean it is 별. I choosed the word 별 and the next word i choose is 'ah' in my name witch means beautiful. So if i mix the word 'byeol' and 'ah' it means "the beautiful star". 별아 . I think it is a wonderful name. :)
